I’m a little late posting today because honestly I just didn’t have it in me this morning. I felt emotionally exhausted and drained and had a hard time staying focused during my quiet time. My heart felt heavy and I couldn’t get my mind right. So I closed my Bible and proceeded to go on with my day.
The only thing that kept coming to my mind was Matthew 11:28,
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
God I need that rest today. Do you? Are you weary and burdened? I know I am.
I’m sorry I don’t have anything enlightening to say today, but I would appreciate your prayers for my family and I. As you know, we are small business owners and this has the potential to impact our business greatly. We are fine and we are doing all we can, and I know that God is going to provide. We are truly blessed and I am so thankful for the lessons learned throughout the years that have allowed us to be prepared for this. But, we still have our days, you know?
When Jesus says “Come to me” He’s saying trust me, I got you, stop your worrying and I will give you rest. He’s wanting us to trust in Him and not in the why and how. We don’t know when this will end and we don’t know what life will look like on the other side, but we do know who God is. And He’s a God who provides, who comforts, who loves and fights for us and who gives us rest. He tells us in 1 Peter 5:7 to cast our anxieties on Him because why? Because He cares for us.
Heavenly Father thank you for who you are. Thank you for continuing to provide for us and those in need during this time. But today Lord, I am weary and exhausted. I need you. I need rest. I know that I am not alone in feeling this way and so I pray today for myself and anyone else in need of this rest. Lord I pray that we will come to you and trust in you and not in our own understanding. Lord strengthen our faith to believe in who you are and to know that even when we are having a hard day, you still love us and you are still there. Thank you Jesus for taking our anxieties and our fears. Lord as the song says, our fears and doubts don’t scare you because you are bigger. You are bigger, Lord. Bigger than we could ever imagine.
Trust in Him today. Cling on to Him and do not let yourself be weary. Go to Him and rest.
Here’s what I’m listening to tonight, listen to it and let the words encourage you.
