How is it the last Wednesday of the month already?! This month has flown by and here we are, staring at the final two months of 2020. Sooo crazy!
On the last Wednesday of every month, Shay and Sheaffer do a fun link up. As Shay puts it, “It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.
I’ve got to admit that this What’s Up Wednesday post snuck up on me this month. It’s been a crazy couple of weeks for us.
But, I got it together and got it done! So here we go!
1. WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:
I’m not gonna lie, food has been pretty boring this week for us. Monday, Joseph worked late so I let the kiddos eat Dairy Queen and then yesterday I made spaghetti and meatballs for our cousin who just had a baby. I made enough for the kiddos to eat. I tried out a new recipe, not sure how I felt about it. But I’m going to try it a little different next time and see if it’s better. It was a broccoli chicken casserole. For the most part it was good, but just a little dry.
On Friday, my siblings and I are making my daddy’s pizza! My daddy used to make homemade pizza for us all the time. He made it when we had friends over, took some to our teachers and even made some for my sorority sisters during recruitment. It’s delicious. And everyone that has had his pizza knows what I’m talking about. I’ve been missing him a lot lately, so I told my sister that I needed a pizza night. It just brings us together and in some crazy way makes us feel like dad is with us. During quarantine, we made it every Sunday night. SOOOO GOOD!

2. WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:
Our beach trip this month was the absolute best! We had the sweetest time. Last week when Joseph and I had to make a quick trip down, we talked about how the condo felt so empty without everyone there. I can’t wait for us to do it again!
3. WHAT I’M LOVING:
This might be silly, but I get so frustrated picking up all the hair that falls out of my head when I’m drying, brushing or straightening it. I shed like a dog ha! A couple of months ago I had the crazy idea to buy a handheld vacuum to put under my sink for all the hair. And y’all, I love it! Makes cleaning it up so much easier.

I’m also loving my new tattoo! I forget that I have it and when I’m looking in the mirror and see it, it makes me happy! I’ve been promising a post about its significance and it’s coming! Hopefully next week so stay tuned.
4. WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:
Honestly…survival ha! Just kidding.
We wrapped up football cheerleading and track for these two and are headed straight into competition cheerleading and basketball season! Competition cheerleading is normally coming to an end, but COVID postponed our season. Jojo finds out today if he makes the middle school team so praying for him! But he’s also on a travel team. So we will be busy, busy!
Mackenzie is finishing up soccer for the year. She will start back up in February. But in the meantime, she is playing on two basketball teams.

So needless to say, this will be my life, ha!

5. WHAT I’M DREADING:
Honestly, not much. 2020 has been so crazy I’m learning to just take it day by day!
6. WHAT I’M WORKING ON:
I’m working on marking things off my master to do list. Right now our guest room is a gigantic mess so I plan on tackling it sometime soon!
7. WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT
I’m excited about Halloween being on a Saturday this year.

Also, I’m excited about Christmas this year. I’m the weirdo who doesn’t decorate until as close to Christmas as possible and then I take it all down the day after! But this year I am embracing the Christmas Spirit, people! I’m doing it!

8. WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:
Y’all, I’m not really watching anything right now. I have a couple of shows I want to start, but haven’t gotten around to it. But, I am reading! Last month I shared a new book that I was going to read and honestly I wasn’t feeling it. So since I loved The Fight to Flourish by Jennie Lusko, I decided to read her husband’s book, Through the Eyes of a Lion. So far I am loving it and so glad that I switched over to it.

Our neighborhood book club is meeting in two weeks so I’m trying to get through this one as quick as I can!

9. WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:
Elevation Church sang a new song a couple of weeks ago and I loved it! It finally released this past week and it has been on repeat in the car.

A couple of weeks ago when I was doing the devotional, Take Back Your Life, Levi Lusko mentioned this song. He said that his daughter was afraid of the dark and that they would play this for her. I asked our google home to play it and I’ve played it every day since. As soon as I pour my coffee, I tell my google home to play it.

And then this one played next and I love it, too!

10. WHAT I’M WEARING:
Georgia is still not on the fall weather train so I’m wearing lots of plaid shirts with shorts! I buy most if not all of mine from Old Navy! I also love wearing a sweater with jean shorts. At some point it will begin to feel like fall and we won’t sweat to death while we are trying to wear all the fall things!

I shared these pants on my Friday Favorites last week. Love them so much! They remind me of the lululemon version. My only negative was that I’m short so I had to fold them at the waist, but it wasn’t that big of an issue!

I finally convinced my hubby to buy me a pair of Doc Martens and I love them! I have wanted some white ones ever since I watched Sadie Robertson wear them when she spoke at the Mercedes Benz Stadium for Passion. Now I want to wear them all the time!

More plaid ha! But it was warm outside so I wore my birkenstocks.

Target has some awesome dresses this season. I am loving this one. I tried to find it online so that I could share the link, but I couldn’t find it…

11. WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:
We are making dad’s pizza with my siblings on Friday and then doing all things Halloween on Saturday!
12. WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:
Decorating for Christmas and trying hard to get in the Christmas spirit this year! I normally stress this time of year because all I think about are the gifts I have to buy. But I’m changing my perspective and mindset. Let’s do this!

13. WHAT ELSE IS NEW:
Ummmm….. I think I about covered it all!
Happy Wednesday, friends!!!
I like the idea of having a handheld vacuum for where I comb my hair. I shed like crazy and I HATE cleaning it up. I also try not to decorate for Christmas too early but like you, that may change this year. We’ll see…
It’s crazy how awesome it is to have it so close. I clean up my hair every day!
