Friday Favorites {10.30.20}

Hey there! What a crazy night! If you live in our area, then you, too, experienced the insane winds. It made our house alarm go off and let me tell you something. The quickest way to get my husband into cop mode (he was a cop when we first got married) is the alarm going off in the middle of the night.

Joseph has our house pretty secured. We have cameras on all sides of our house so he immediately checked them to make sure it was the wind. Thankfully it was, but his adrenaline was going and it took him some time to come off the crazy rush.

I am thankful for the experience and training he received as a police officer. I always tell him that I love how safe I feel when he’s around.

But anyways! It’s Friday, babes!! Yay! And it’s Halloween Eve. As always, I am linking up with Andrea and Erika for Friday Favorites. So, grab your coffee and let’s get started.

Last Friday for my Friday Favorite posts, I showed you our back porch. We had it screened in and I changed up our furniture. You can read about it here. In our last two houses, we’ve had screened in porches and have always had a tv mounted. Our porch at this house is a little different and we didn’t have an empty wall for a mount. One night, we were sitting out there and Joseph had an “aha” moment. He found this mount on Amazon and it worked perfectly! I came home yesterday and he was finally putting it up!

The really cool thing about this mount is that it’s electric and lifts up and out of the way when you aren’t watching tv.

So cool! The kiddos asked to have dinner out here last night.

I finally convinced my hubby to let me buy a pair of white Doc Martens! I absolutely love them and want to wear them every day, ha! Did you own a pair in high school?

I wore them with this dress I bought on Amazon a couple of months ago and my jean jacket.

Speaking of dresses, I shared this one Wednesday, but I love it so much. It’s from Target. I am loving their fall line this year!

My sweet sister surprised me and left this on my counter the other day! Its a couple of my favorite things. The McGee’s new book, Make Life Beautiful and a new coffee mug!

Speaking of coffee mugs, I LOVE them. If you follow me on Instagram, then you know haha! I post a mug pic almost everyday. I bought a new mug this week and a lot of you said it was your favorite so far. It’s my fave, too!

On Sunday I kept my favorite niece for a couple of hours while my sister picked up Jonathan from the airport. I just love her!

And do you know what my favorite thing was?!

She fell asleep on me. We did not move for over an hour! Don’t you just love a sleeping baby?! There’s something so calming and peaceful about it.

I am loving my fall Sand and Fog candles. Mulled Wine and Apple Cider are my favorites for fall. I can’t wait to light my Christmas ones!!

If you’ve never bought these, go to your nearest TJ Maxx, Homegoods, Marshall’s and buy some now. They smell so good!!

I always love sharing what I’m reading and babes, this book right here is soooo good!

Seriously, if you’ve never read any of Levi Lusko’s books I definitely recommend them!

And that concludes this week’s Friday Favorites! What are your plans for the weekend? We are making my dad’s pizza tonight and then all things Halloween on Saturday!

I hope y’all have the BEST weekend!

XO

  1. We had high winds last night too and the wind blew over a bucket outside our bedroom window and literally moved the trash can onto the driveway. My hubby is a former agent and went into high alert as well. We could see on our cameras that the trash can was moved. We thought someone was out there. Of course he had to go “on patrol” around the house. That TV mount is amazing and those dresses are too cute. I always appreciate a good book recommendation too.
