Friday Favorites {10.23.20}

HAPPY FRIDAY!!! Anyone else feeling like this?…

Starting the week with a 24 hour trip threw me off! I’m playing catch up and trying to get my house back in order. The struggle has been real this week.

But it’s Friday (whoop, whoop!!) and as always I am linking up with Andrea and Erika for Friday Favorites.

Last Friday I did a thing….

Y’all! I love it so much! I have been thinking about this for over two years and I finally felt like it was the right time. This olive branch represents a journey that I never want to forget. In the last two years, God has taught me so much about the olive tree and the olive. I can’t wait to share the whole story with you. I am working on a post and I promise I will post soon.

Sweater weather is my favorite! Too bad Georgia isn’t getting with the program. You start the day with a sweater and then totally regret your decision right at about noon ha! This week I shared about one of my new favorite sweaters from Amazon. You can read all about it here.

This sweater will definitely be one I wear over and over and it’s only $32!

I also shared this new hat from Forever 21. It’s regular $19.99 and with the discount, I bought it for $12! It is sturdy and the quality is great. They are running a friends and family discount today!

It’s no lie that I LOVE athletic wear! I found these pants on amazon and decided to try them out. I really like them! They have a drawstring on the bottom of the legs for length adjustment and they look super cute when you pull the drawstring tight. They remind me of a lululemon pair of pants. The only negative, for me, was that I’m short. So I had to fold them at the waist. But they still worked for me and they are super comfortable!

On Monday, Joseph and I made a trip down to Hilton Head to look at a property we may be buying. That afternoon, we had some extra time so I let him choose what we did and of course, he picked golf. We had the best time! I wrote a post about how golf used to be such a sour subject in our house and how we overcame that. You can read it here.

Last month we had our back porch screened in. We switched out the sectional for a table and then I added two chairs at the end. I love turning on the lights in the evenings!

I was going to have a hanging swing made, but decided to try out two chairs instead. I think I love it this way! Now I’m on the hunt for a couple of ottomans so that we can prop our feet up while we drink our morning coffee or have a glass of wine in the evening.

On this day, 20 years ago, Joseph wrote me a note and asked me to be his girlfriend! Yes, he wrote me a note and I still have it! I can’t believe it’s been 20 years!!

Happy Dating Anniversary, babe!! What a journey life has been. I am so thankful for those two high school sweethearts who decided to risk their friendship by choosing to “make it official!” I love you!!!

Thank you for reading today, friends! I hope y’all have the BEST weekend!!

Friday Favorites {10.16.20}

Happy Friday, friends! Can you believe it’s the end of another week? I feel like these weeks are just flying by!

On Fridays I love to link up with Erika and Andrea for their Friday Favorites. It’s a fun post where we all share some of our favorite things from the week.

Let’s get started!

Have you guys heard of the Make Up Eraser?! Oh. My. Goodness.

I was telling my sister in law how I struggle to get all the make up off my face at night and she told me about it. It’s amazing how you don’t need any cleanser. All you need is hot water and this towel and it literally “erases” the make up off your face! I bought one for Mary to use for her mascara and she’s loved using it, too.

I love a dress with pockets! Don’t you?

Y’all, I love this dress that I bought at Target a couple of weeks ago. Love the color, material and the fact that it has pockets just makes it better!

I love white pumpkins and was so excited when I spotted these at Kroger.

I love mums on my front porch in the fall. I postponed buying them because I knew we would be out of town a lot and I didn’t want them to die while we were gone. But now that we are home for a little while, I was excited to finally buy some.

I was a little let down with the ones at our local Kroger so Joseph and I went to Athens and found these at Home Depot. They are beautiful! And they are only $9.99!

I decided to go simple this year. We may add a pumpkin or two once we carve or paint them. I’m trying to convince my kids to paint our pumpkins instead of carving them this year. It’s not going in my favor. What do y’all do? Do you carve or paint your pumpkins? And how do you keep them from rotting?

It’s no secret that I LOVE coffee mugs. I had a sweet surprise in our boo basket from one of our neighbors.

Oh my gosh. I love it so mmmuch!!

This girl right here 😍.

She’s been asking for more blonde in her hair so more blonde she got! Thank you Aunt Beth!! I can’t believe how grown she looks these days. It seems like just yesterday she was the little girl in the next picture….

Oh mommas with littles. I hated the moms who told me to enjoy every moment because one day I would miss the younger years. So I promised myself I’d never tell a mom that, but gosh they were so right. So I’m going back on my word and I’m going to tell you: enjoy every moment!! The days may be long but the years are short.

And that concludes my Friday favorites for this week! I can’t believe it’s Friday!

One more thing before I go! Yesterday I shared our final Beach Condo Renovation pictures. If you missed it, go back and read it. I share some super exciting news. Here’s are the links to all three posts:

HHI Condo Transformation: Kitchen and Dining Room

HHI Condo Transformation: Entryway and Living Room

HHI Condo Transformation: Bedrooms and Bathrooms

I hope y’all have a fantastic Friday and an amazing weekend!

Friday Favorites {10.02.20}

Happy Friday, Friends!

It’s the end of another week and if you live in our town, it’s the beginning of Fall Break! I am so thankful that our school system schedules this week off. Whether we travel or stay home, it’s always nice to have a week off from our crazy, busy schedules.

This week we are headed to HHI so we are super excited about that!

On Fridays, I love linking up with Shay and Sheaffer. They do a Friday Favorites post where they share some of their favorite things from the week. It’s always a fun way to end the week!

So here we go! Grab your cup of coffee or drink of choice and let’s get started.

This necklace is my new favorite. I’ve literally worn it everyday since it came in the mail. I started following a blogger on Instagram and this necklace is actually named after her. It’s called the Nasreen and it’s sold on Etsy by RustikHeart. If you are looking for a good quality, dainty gold necklace then look no more and purchase this one. The price is great, too!

I am loving Natalie Grant’s new album. Y’all. Her voice is powerful and beautiful, but when she sings I feel like the Holy Spirit pours out. No Stranger and My Weapon are my favorites on the album.

A couple of weeks ago, I found this couch on Facebook marketplace. I was super excited about this find and love the way it looks in my keeping room. The only thing it was missing was some color. So I decided to go with a yellow and navy combination which are my favorite colors to decorate with. I was having trouble finding some that I liked and was just about ready to give up.

Until I found these at Wal-Mart! I was there looking for towels for our HHI condo and found all kinds of awesome deals! The plaid pillows were less than $13 and the yellow ones were less that $8!! You can’t beat that price. And they are great quality, too. Pillows can get so expensive. The price of one can be almost what I paid for all four of these. If you are looking for throw pillows, hit up Wal-Mart y’all!

I’ve been needing to change up my table in my foyer for a while. I had a bunch of picture frames and two dark potted plants on each side. I really wanted something bright and crisp. I really love the way this turned out! The vase and flowers are another Wal-Mart find and the candle holders and the wooden hello sign are from Hobby Lobby.

This vase is less than $10!!

Speaking of Wal-Mart finds, this sweater is also from there! My sister loves the Aerie sweaters and introduced me to them. I’ve since, bought a few and love them. This sweater, makes me think of those, but without Aerie’s price tag. Get this, this sweater is less than $10!!! Yup! I wish I would’ve picked up more colors. I am normally a small and bought a large. I could’ve gone with a medium, but I’m going to wash it and see if it shrinks a little before purchasing another one.

I decided to go a little or maybe a lot longer with my nails than normal, but I am loving them! How do you like your nails? What shape do you like? I would love to try the almond shape, but I don’t know if I could pull that off.

Y’all. This combo right here gave me life the other night ha! If you are in need of a sweet, macro friendly snack then you must try this combo. So so good!

And last, but not least. This picture is my favorite of the week. Our sweet Nana passed away last month… she passed away on the same day she married Papa 68 years ago. Yesterday Joseph went to lunch with Papa, his mom and sister. His sister sent me this picture 😍. I am so thankful for the example that Nana and Papa have given us. I pray that I can be more like Nana and that Joseph and I will strive to love each other the way that they did.

And that wraps up this week!! Thank you for reading along. I hope you have an amazing weekend! XO

Friday Favorites {9.25.2020}

Happy Friday!! I hope you’ve had a great week. I don’t know about you, but I sure am glad today is Friday. We have our first free Saturday tomorrow in a while so I’m looking forward to it! Maybe I can convince Joseph to take me to pick up mums and pumpkins for our front porch.

On Fridays, Andrea and Erika host a Favorite Fridays post where they share some of their current favorite things. I love reading everyone’s posts and sometimes like to jump on the bandwagon and share my current favorite things. So here we go! Grab your coffee and scroll to see!

If you follow me on instagram then you’ve seen me sharing some of my favorite quotes from this book. It has been a long time since my heart has attached to a book that I am reading. Jennie Lusko and her husband Levi, unexpectedly lost their five year old little girl a couple of years ago. In this book, Jennie is so transparent in talking about her struggles and even shares excerpts from her journals. She talks about fighting through the hardships and becoming who God wants us to be. The chapter I read this morning had me in tears. It was about how much God loves us and how His love isn’t based on who we are, it’s placed on us. Y’all. You have to read this book. Especially for my friends who have experienced a loss of a loved one. This book will help your heart heal and remind you to fight in the midst of terrible circumstances.

You can purchase it on Amazon and have it on your doorstep the next day! The book is called

The Fight to Flourish,

I promise you will love this book.

A couple of months ago I shared an outfit I wore to church and so many of you bought it! I loved this dress and I’m so excited to share it again because I just ordered the same dress in a “fall” color! It’s supposed to be here tomorrow and I am so excited. They have so many options that can definitely go in your transition into fall wardrobe! Dresses on Amazon make me nervous because I’ve ordered some that did not work for me, but this one totally did. I also love these sandals and have multiple colors. They are super comfortable! I wore them to a work lunch with a black jumper and my jean jacket. They are totally worth the price!

Another one of my favorite products is my new mascara, primer and lash serum! A couple of months ago, a friend told me about a lash serum that helps your eyelashes grow. I just can’t do lash extensions. I sweat entirely too much and they just feel so “fake” on my eyes. I have used this serum for almost two months and have seen some growth. But what I am really loving is the primer and mascara. I LOVE my lashes when I use this product. Next time I wear it, I’ll post a pic so that you can see how long my lashes look!

Here’s the primer. This goes on before your mascara.

This is the Lash serum and Mascara. The serum goes on once a day consistently for 12 weeks.

And last but not least! This girl cheered in her first middle school football game last night. We weren’t sure if there was going to be a season this year so we were so excited. It poured on us, but we loved watching her cheer on the Dragons! On our way home I looked over at Joseph and told him that I can’t believe this is our season of life. For so long we would say things like “can you imagine when the older two are in middle school?” And here we are…. one in 7th and one in 8th. Goodness, time sure does fly!

And that does it for the week! Thank you for reading! I had fun sharing all my current favorites with you! Have a GREAT weekend!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends!  Thanksgiving 2017 is in the books!

I hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  We had a busy but great day.

And just like every Friday, I am linking up with Erika, Andrea and Narci to share our FAVORITES for the week.

We’ve had a great week off with the kiddos.  Now, I’m not going lie, Monday was rough.  It started off great.  The girls sat by the fire and played while I read.  I thought, maybe this will be the break when they all get along. Ha!  Yeah, Monday was rough.  I am not sure what was wrong with my kids, but evil monsters they were!

I did snap this picture before the horns came out LOL!!!

So peaceful right?  Yeah…didn’t last long!

Tuesday, Jojo had a hair appointment.  While he was getting his hair cut, one of his best buddies came in to get his cut as well.  So of course, scheming began and Jojo ended up hanging with him the rest of the day.  I love those boys!

Since it was just me and the girls, we enjoyed lunch at Chick-Fil-A!

I am a wimp when it comes to cold weather.  I hate being cold so the rower has been my best friend.  Y’all, I prefer a rower to a treadmill!  If you are looking for something to have at home, I definitely recommend one!  I try to get a couple of 5Ks each week if I can.

One year ago, we had our island installed in our kitchen.  We moved into our house two years ago and have loved making it our own.  We’ve made a lot of changes and still have a couple more to go, but the kitchen is by far my favorite room in our house.  We still need to replace the light fixtures above the island and our appliances.  We are also debating changing out the black granite to more of a white.  Here’s our progress so far…

Our cabinets are Divine White and our walls are Revere Pewter.  Perfect color combo!

A couple of weeks ago, we had Friendsgiving with our small group and my friend brought a blueberry dump cake.  It was delicious.  I’ve made it three times since then and it’s been a hit every time.  If you are looking for something yummy and easy, try this!

As always, love our CrossFit 30549 family!  Enjoyed working out with our crew Thanksgiving morning.

We had a great Thanksgiving Day!  Lunch at Joseph’s Nana’s and then back to our house for dinner with my family.  So thankful for this crazy crew I get to call mine.

I am known to be a little OCD.  Ok, maybe not a little ha!  I always want the kiddos dressed nice and sometimes even coordinate outfits.  But this year, I let them dress themselves.  I took a more laid back approach to the holiday. I am trying my best to not sweat the small stuff and enjoy all moments, big and small.

And that wraps up this week’s Friday Favorites.  I am off to pack and clean the house.  Joseph and I leave for our anniversary trip in the morning.  Please say a prayer for us and our kiddos.  Pray for my sister who will stay with our kids while we are gone.

I get super anxious when I fly.  This message has definitely been a timely message for me.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and week!  I will see you all soon!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends!  Honestly, I can’t believe it’s Friday again.  These weeks are flying by.

And just like every Friday, I am linking up with Erika, Andrea and Narci to share our FAVORITES from the week.

Sunday night I introduced Jojo to the show Survivor.  Joseph and I started watching it when Jojo was a baby.  Jojo really got into the episode and asked if he could watch it with me again next week.  It’s crazy to think that we began wactching the show when he was only a couple of months old.  Almost 10 years ago!  Now he’s sitting with us watching it and enjoying it!

On Tuesday we went to a Patriotic Concert for Mary’s 4th grade class.  Jojo was never big into singing in front of people so he opts out of those events.  But Mary was totally in it.  I wish I would’ve gotten a video of her singing.  My girl was in the front row and sang her little heart out.

On Wednesday, we went to our local frozen yogurt spot, Swirlees for Mary’s End of the Year Softball Party.  This was her first year playing softball.  We were blessed with wonderful coaches who were patient, encouraging and taught Mary a lot.

It was a bit chilly this week in Georgia.  I took advantage of the weather and wore my new boots from Target.

Here’s a better picture from their website.

You definitely need these!  Such a good shoe for fall and winter.

So I tried something new this week.  I went to a girl who does lash extensions and decided to give them a try.  I’ve only had them on for about 48 hours, but I love them so far.  I know not everyone likes them and has the time for the upkeep.  I can’t really say since I’ve only had them on two days, but I will let you guys know how it goes.  I have really short lashes so I am loving the longer look.  And I’ve loved that I don’t need mascara!

My sweet bug is loving Math.  She is learning multiplication tables on her own just because!  Last night she came in the bathroom while I got ready for bed and showed me a new math problem she made up.

Last night we had the big kids’ Art Show at school.  I love love love buying their framed art.  The pieces I have so far are in our media room.  I can’t wait to add these on the wall.  I love how the school does this each year and how they use the same style frame.  It really makes this OCD momma happy!

I am still loving Church of the Small Things.  I am hosting a Virtual Bible Study using the study guide, but I’m also reading the book.  This paragraph really stood out to me this morning.

I can totally relate to her.  I spent so many years wishing and dreaming I had certain things.  I always lived in the future and I missed what was right in front of me.  I missed the blessings God had for me right then and there.  It’s ok to plan and look to the future.  But it is super important to live in the now.  To love and be intentional now.  Even if life isn’t great right now, God is using that time to teach you something.  Maybe it’s something that you will use to minister to others in the future?

And that wraps up this week’s Friday Favorites.  We have a super busy weekend ahead.  I’ll be honest, I’m already tired thinking about it.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend full of lots of family time and fun.  I’m hoping to start putting up our Christmas decor this weekend.  It’s super early for me, but we are ready!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, sweet friends!

I am linking up with Erika, Andrea and Narci to share our FAVORITES from the week.

Today is a great day!  I wish I could share all the details with you, but it would take days!  Today is a reminder that second chances do exist, that patience during a waiting season brings great blessings and that God always, always provides.  Today is a day we’ve dreamt of for 10 years y’all.  10 Years.  One day I hope to share what today means, but for now just trust me when I say that God always comes through.  There will be moments of doubt and tough lessons, moments when you wonder if God will ever come through and when He does….WOW.  I can’t even put it into words.  I am so thankful for God’s grace, His faithfulness and His provision.  I am thankful for second chances.

I just wanted to take a moment to share that encouragement with you.  If you are in a waiting season, hold on and hang tight.  Be still and know He is God because when the blessing comes it will blow your mind!

Alright I’ve gone off on a tangent, but I’m so excited.  So back to Friday Favorites.  Sit down, prop your feet and grab your coffee.  Here are some of my FAVORITES from the week.

Last weekend Joseph’s Aunt hosted her annual Halloween Party. This year she challenged everyone to wear a Halloween hat.  What exactly is a Halloween hat?  Not sure, but my sister-in-law and I just went with it.  We met at Dollar Tree Saturday morning and came up with about 11 hats for our family.  We had a great time!  Aunt Rose throws the best parties.  Although the food hangover I had for days after wasn’t so great ha!  The time spent with family was great!

As many of you know, I am hosting a Virtual Bible Study through my blog and Facebook page.  I can’t figure out how to put my videos on my blog so make sure to like my page to see the weekly videos.  This week was such a good week!  You can read more about it here.

My mom and sister joined us for church on Sunday.  It was a sweet surprise.  Also, the kiddos got to have a little pre-Halloween fun and dress up in their costumes.

On Monday, Joseph and I hosted the Young Life Leaders in our home.  This was such a sweet time.  I loved meeting each of them and spending some time with them as they ate dinner.  But what I loved more was watching them come together at the end to go over the night and pray.  Something about hearing young kids pray just blessed my heart.  It was a sweet sweet time.  Thank you Lori and Staci for helping me provide dinner for this great group of kids!

Halloween started early for Joseph and I!  We dressed up for our CrossFit class.  So much fun!

We had a great Halloween.  But I have to admit, I can’t wait for Halloween to come on the weekend.  I always feel bad cutting the night short for the kids.  These boys go all out.  I’m afraid we don’t have too many years left of this…  This is the third year that the boys have celebrated Halloween together.  It’s become their thing.  They look forward to it every year. The girls had a great time too.  Look at those costumes and make up!  Props to my sister for doing Mary’s make up.  She got all the creative genes in our family so I am thankful she can always pull off the things I can’t!The boys trick or treated on foot and the girls rode in the trailer.

On our way home from small groups on Wednesday, I went by Kroger to pick up some cough medicine and saw this!  OMG!  I can not be happier!

That wraps up my Friday Favorites for this week.  I hope you and your family have a great weekend!

Friday Favorites

Oh my goodness, can I get a TGIF?!

Y’all.  This week.  Gracious.  We had SIX softball games in Four days, Football practice three of those days and we hosted small group at our house.  Today, we have our school fundraiser for the big kids and my crossfit team is doing our weekly team workout.

Not to mention, laundry is piled up, bedrooms need cleaning and my sink has not been empty all week.  #momminainteasy

But it’s Friyay and that makes me happy!

Today, I am linking up with Erica, Andrea and Narci to share some of our favorite things from the week.  Grab your coffee, take a breather and get comfy.

I was looking through old pictures and came across this one.  Can we just take a minute to look at my sweet girl?  We’ve had a rough week y’all.  She has been extra whiny and emotional.  She cried one morning because I started to fix Mary’s hair before I did hers.  It’s been rough, but then I see these pictures and it reminds me that my baby isn’t a baby anymore.

I normally try to space out having lunch with the kiddos at school.  It was Jojo’s day, but she cried and well…I made it work.  Jojo has “brunch” at 10:55 so I went to Hardees at his request ha!  Chicken biscuits for him and his buddy.  Then I left a little early around 11:20 to go back to Hardees and get this sweet thing some chicken tenders and fries.  She has lunch at 10:32 so I was cutting it close, but I made it! img_7154

Mary went on her first overnight field trip to Jekyll Island last week.  She had a blast, but we were so happy to have her home.  I felt like a “bad mom” because I didn’t go with her, but she was well taken care of by all of my sweet momma friends.  I think it really helped her to do this without me.  Earlier this year, she struggled with anxiety and some minor panic attacks.  I was so worried that it would all come back, but thank God it didn’t. Mackenzie missed Mary!  As much as they fight, they really do love each other.  Mackenzie made Mary a sweet card while she was gone.

I am loving my new Halloween booty shorts and sports bra by Born Primitive.  You can read all about this awesome brand here.  Ladies, if you are looking for a new sports bra-check them out!  Use my BFF’s code: Sanders15 for 15% off.

This week was lunch with my kids week.  I try to do this a couple of times during the school year.  The weather was beautiful this week so we sat outside.

It’s competition month at our crossfit box.  We are celebrating our ONE year anniversary all month-long.  Here I am #meanmuggin representing my #teamnumberjuan.

I love watching our morning crew interact with the evening crew, athletes lifting heavier, running faster, jumping on a box and rope climbing for the first time.  We’ve had a blast!  If you are looking for a community of athletes from all different walks of life and fitness levels, come see us!  You don’t have to be “in shape” to come.  We help you get there.  All of our workouts can be scaled and modified to fit your fitness level.  I promise you can do it!  Check us out on Facebook!

My sister-in-law dropped off some goodies at our house this week.  In the goody bag was this awesome, big jar of squash relish.  Oh my.  Y’all.  This stuff is so good.

My sweet Mackenzie made me this card at school.  Gosh I love that girl!

On Sunday, we decided to go to 12 Stone Church.  We are “in between” churches I guess you can say.  After dad passed away, I wanted nothing to do with church.  We didn’t go for over a year and then couldn’t get in a good routine of going.  On Sunday, our schedule was a little off so we opted to go to 12 Stone.  I’m so glad we did.  It was exactly what I needed.  We started a new series that you can watch here.

What I have loved is that each day, they have a devotion that goes back to the message from Sunday.  It’s really challenged Joseph and I this week.

Here’s Day 1.  There’s links to the following days at the bottom if you want to follow along.

If you are a praying friend.  I know not everyone prays, but if you do will you pray for us?  We have struggled to find a church home since dad passed.  Pray that we can find a place that will challenge, encourage and help us grow in our walk with God.

This Instagram post spoke such truth to my heart this week.

I am hosting a Virtual Bible Study and would love for you to join me!  We will start this Sunday.  You can read all the details here.  I’ve worked on it this week to get a head start and it’s going to be so good!  It’s already encouraged and challenged me so much!

A couple of weeks ago I spotted these cute shoes at Old Navy.  I am a sucker for leopard print and love that it’s back in style this fall.  You need these shoes!  Pair them with some jeans and a plaid shirt for a fun fall look.

And that wraps up this week’s Friday Favorites.

We have a busy but fun weekend ahead. It is finally feeling like fall around here and we’ve been blessed with some beautiful days.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!!!  I can’t believe we are at the end of another week.  Where are the weeks going??  And why are they going by so fast?

On Fridays, I link up with Andrea, Narci and Erika to share our favorite things for the week.  They do the link up every Friday.  Feel free to jump in!  It’s a fun way of meeting other bloggers.

This week started off great and then came crashing down ha!  You can read all about that here.

But let’s get on with my Friday Favorites.  It’s a short list full of goodness.

Do you use Chatbooks? I love it. I have been using it for about two years now. I have it connected with my instagram account and every 60 pictures, I get a new book.  It’s only $8 I believe per book. I am awful about not printing out my pictures so this is the perfect way of having them printed.  If you want to sign up click here for more info. They are thin books and have the dates of when the pictures were taken. I have them set out in our keeping room in a wire basket.  The kids love going through them.  They go back to 2011 so it’s a lot of fun to reminisce and look at all the different books. They normally are not this organized ha! This week  I got our new book.  Love this picture of Joseph and I.

Wednesday started bright and early for us.  Mary had to be at the school at 5:00 AM to leave for their overnight field trip.  I have missed her so much, but pictures like these have warmed my heart.  She is on her way home now and I can not wait to see her.  Be on the look out for a blog post from my friends Staci and Jennifer.  They are going to take over the blog and recap their field trip with some mom truths about Jeckyll.

On my way to small group Wednesday night I stopped for a coffee.  I don’t go to Starbucks much these days because I really enjoy the coffee I make at home.  But being 6:00 in the evening I realized I didn’t need a whole pot.  Well, maybe I did but then I would still be awake right now!  I wore my favorite jeans with a plaid shirt.  Plaid button ups are my favorite and it’s fall and I didn’t care how hot it was.  And look at this cup from Starbucks.  So pretty!  This picture just screams fall and makes me happy.img_6930

One of my favorite blogs to read is Mix and Match Mama.  She recently finished her new cookbook, Simmers.  I have tried two meals so far and they were both very good.  The crock pot is my best friend during the busy months so I am loving this cookbook.

I am loving my new nail polish by Essie.  This color is called Caviar bar.  It looks black, but it’s actually a deep navy.  I’m on day three and it still looks pretty good.Make sure you buy the ones in the twisted looking bottles.  It’s their gel combo.  I am trying to give my nails a break from SNS so this has been a good in between to keep color on my nails.

I love a good fall smelling candle.  I’m a little bit picky when it comes to the smell so I was super excited when I found this one at Bath and Body Works.  It smells so so good.  Even my kiddos noticed how good the house smells.  I also got this cute candle holder.  I set it out on my tray on the island.  The smell screams fall and makes the whole house feel cozy.

And that’s it for this Friday.  I told y’all it was short and sweet but full of goodness.  This week really tested me, but thankfully I am feeling more like myself.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Friday Favorites: Hilton Head Edition

Happy happy Friday friends!!  I can not believe it’s the end of another week.  This week my kiddos were out of school for Fall Break.  We normally like to stay in town and enjoy the quiet and slower pace, but this year we packed up and headed down to HHI.

I am linking up with Erica, Narci and Andrea for this week’s Friday Favorites.  I always get asked for recommendations of places we love so this Friday it is all about Hilton Head Island.

This was a much shorter trip than we are used to, but we got in as much of our favorite things as we could.

On our first night we eat at Giuseppi’s Pizza.  It’s a tradition we started a couple of years ago.  The garlic knots are amazing and the Southwest BBQ Chicken Salad is a must!  So much flavor and so so good.

Shopping, shopping and more shopping!  There are so many places on the island for this.  On our first day we normally stop at Tanger on our way in, but since we came in a little later we decided to go back the next day.  On the island they also have a lot of boutique type stores like, Francescas and Fabrik.  There’s also a TJ Maxx (because who doesn’t love TJ) and a Belk.

And let’s just go off topic for a bit.  Speaking of shopping…I got the cutest Steve Madden shoes.  They are adorable and super comfortable.  I paired them with my new shirt from H&M and my favorite Lululemon yoga pants.  Y’all.  I can not say it enough.  These pants are the  My sister recently purchased a pair of Lulus and I think she is definitely converted.  Yes they are a little pricey, but they last a long time.  I have a hard time finding yoga pants for my height.  I am 5 ft. even.  Lululemon will take them in for free or you can get their 7/8 length.  They are a little longer than traditional capris, but for this short girl they are perfect.

Ok.  Enough about shopping and back to places we love ha!  Shelter Cove Park is fairly new.  I think they opened it two years ago.  On Tuesdays during the summer they have all kinds of fun activities for the kiddos.  From bouncy houses to zip line to music entertainment and fireworks.  This year we noticed they added a playground. It was a great addition to the park.  Our kiddos definitely got some of their energy out after dinner.  While you are at the park, plan on eating at Poseidon.  It faces the park and you can eat there while you wait on the fireworks.  It’s also a great date night spot.

We tried a new spot this year for lunch and decided to go back for breakfast before heading home.  It’s called French Bakery and is also in the Shelter Cove Park area.  It’s a cute little restaurant with a delicious menu.  The French toast y’all was legit.

About three years ago we started taking the kids to play putt putt.  Pirate’s Island is fun and kid friendly.  The kiddos always have a great time until one of them realizes they are losing.  That’s an Eterno for you-we are competitive!

Harbour Town is a must. It’s always packed so plan on a long wait at the restaurants if you are visiting during the summer months.  They have live music, shops, the lighthouse, rocking chairs a big playground and fun activities for the kids.  We normally go to Crab Shack one night and then The Wreck at Salty Dog on another night. On the Salty Dog side they have hula hoop contests, face painting and live music for the kids.  The Salty Dog and The Wreck have the same exact menu.  The positive about The Wreck is the shorter wait time so with kids it is definitely the better option.

We were excited to finally take the kids to Skull Creek Boathouse.  The wait during the summer ranges anywhere from 1-2 hours or longer. Joseph and I normally go when it’s just him and I.  The live music is always good and the view is beautiful!

THE BEACH ha!  We stay in Palmetto Dunes in either the Beach Villas or The Moorings.  There’s a restaurant called The Dunes House right on the beach.  They have the best shrimp tacos! We’ve been eating them for six years and they are good every time. There are also public restrooms you can use while hanging out on the beach.  Why is this so great you ask?  Because it keeps you from having to go back to your condo.  With small kids this was a godsend for us because you know they don’t tell you until it’s an emergency!

Last but not least is the General Store in Palmetto Dunes.  You can not leave without going at least once.  It’s tradition!

And that’s it!  I hope you enjoyed my Friday Favorites: Hilton Head Island Edition.  Feel free to contact me if you ever plan a trip.  It truly is one of my favorite places.

I’m off now!  I have 3 kiddos waiting to enjoy their last day of Fall Break.

Have a Fabulous Friday friends!
