What’s Up Wednesday {3.31.21}

Hi, friends! On the last Wednesday of the month, I link up with Shay and Sheaffer for a fun link up. As Shay says, “It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.”

It’s also the last day of the month! What?! I love this time of year. The beginning of spring, the end of the school year, summer! I can’t wait!

But back to What’s Up Wednesday! Are you ready? Grab your coffee and let’s do this.

1. WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:

I have nothing fun to share here. Our lives have been so crazy this month and sadly, we’ve eaten out more than we like to do.

So what have we eaten? Chick-fil-A! Lol!

2. WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:

I’ve actually thought a lot about this time last year. I know there was so much uncertainty and anxiety around the world, but there was so much peace in our home.

We truly handed it over to God and He was so faithful. I miss our days at home with nothing on the calendar. We took walks everyday, we had movie night every single night and ate dinner together every evening.

Last Easter, we sat in our pajamas on the couch and watched the service online. And every night leading up to Easter we talked about what Jesus was doing that day. We watched Passion of the Christ on Good Friday and completely experienced a Holy Week in a whole different way.

It is true what the Bible says that what the enemy means for evil, God turns it for our good. Goodness comes from our adversity.

I am so thankful for 2020. It brought my little family closer. Today, we still have movie nights and my kids would rather spend time with us than be out and about with friends. We do more as a family and I have 2020 to thank for that.

3. WHAT I’M LOVING:

Joseph and I have been working together for a couple of years. But I’ve always handled the operations and marketing for our business. Lately, I’ve been getting myself out there and actually showing properties to clients. We’ve also tag teamed a lot lately and helped our clients together. It’s been really fun!

I’m excited to continue to venture more into the agent side of real estate. I do have the best trainer teaching me his ways so I’m a lucky gal!

If you’re local, I would love to help you! Send me a message and let’s connect!

4. WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

Oh man…these kids are running us ragged, ha!

Jojo is finishing up middle school golf and playing for a league. So we are busy every day with him.

Mackenzie is deep into the soccer season. Practices and games every week and weekend!

And she also started golf! So we have that once a week.

And our bear, well she’s had a lot more time on her hands. Her sport doesn’t start until late summer so she’s enjoying her time off!

She’s staying active by walking our dog, Georgia and yesterday she decided to go for a run after her walk! It made my runner heart so happy!

5. WHAT I’M DREADING:

Laundry. Need I say more? Ha! Laundry has been the thorn in my side for weeks. Ugh.

6. WHAT I’M WORKING ON:

I’m working on a couple of real estate projects and just trying to keep my head above water with chores at home. This season is so crazy for us and I’m just trying to stay positive.

I’m also working on a couple of fun blogging things! It’s still in the early process, so I’ll share more soon.

7. WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:

SPRING BREAK!! Woohoo! Anyone else?!

8. WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:

I started watching Ginny and Georgia and it’s so good! I’m so slow when it comes to watching series so I’ll get to the end eventually. But I am loving it so far! Have you watched it?

During quarantine, I joined a book club in my neighborhood. I read the most I’ve ever read during that time because hello, there was nothing else to do lol!

I’ve missed the last couple of meetings because kids sports and also, I haven’t been able to read the book of the month. It’s been so frustrating because I love reading.

I’ve been walking everyday and thought that I would give Audible a chance. And y’all, I love it! I “read” the book in under 48 hours! And it was a good one!

If you love a thriller, this one is good! I’m excited about finally making it to book club next month and actually reading the book.

9. WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:

Oh y’all! This song right here has been on repeat since Sunday!

Soooo good!!

10. WHAT I’M WEARING:

Well… let’s see. Lots of leggings and T-shirts lately. I have not gotten dressed like I normally do. I think because we’ve been so busy!

But speaking of leggings, these right here are amazing! If you are looking for a less expensive option then these are it. They have that buttery soft feeling and totally remind me of the lululemon align leggings.

I have them in black and just ordered these! I love the blue color.

I am also wearing these denim shorts from Target on repeat. And this sweater! I have it in two colors.

I also splurged on these beauties!

They will definitely be a staple in my wardrobe this spring and summer. And they are on sale!

11. WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:

We are headed to our favorite place, HHI!!

12. WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:

We are headed to HHI so definitely looking forward to some family time. It’s been much needed. I’m just praying that the weather forecast stay the way it looks right now. I’m also looking forward to the end of April, ha! It means that May is almost here and that means the end of the school year and start of summer!

13. WHAT ELSE IS NEW:

Nothing else, really! I’ve covered it all!

I hope you all have an amazing day!! Thank you for reading!

XO

What’s Up Wednesday {2.24.21}

Hey, hey hey! It’s the last Wednesday of the month, y’all! Where has February gone? I mean, it’s flown by.

Today is What’s Up Wednesday in blog land. I link up with Shay and Sheaffer to share a little bit of everything!

Grab your coffee or drink of choice and let’s go, friends!

1. WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:

Joseph left early Monday morning for Las Vegas so I had him grill me plenty of chicken before he left.

I actually just wrote a post where I share the marinade recipe along with four of my go to meals. You can read it here.

My kiddos are eating these:

Have you tried these?! Oh. My. Goodness. They are from Sam’s Club and taste almost exactly like Chickfila nuggets and fries. My kiddos love them! They also have chicken sandwiches. They are a quick go to meal for our busy evenings.

2. WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:

Oh my goodness. Look what came up in my Facebook memories this morning from 10 years ago!

My sweet, bug!! How has it been 10 years?!

And this next picture….

Y’all. That was my life, ha! Two babies in a stroller and my bubs walking beside me. We had a weekly outing to Target for my sanity and theirs. I can’t believe life has gone so fast.

I mean… look at them now…

Oh my gosh. I’m going to go cry now. BRB.

Seriously though. Mommas, I hated when older moms would tell me to enjoy those baby moments because they would go by so fast. I was knee deep in bottles and diapers and I didn’t want to hear that. But now I understand why they would say it. It’s true. It goes by so very fast.

The days are long, but the years are short. Babies don’t keep.

3. WHAT I’M LOVING:

Oh my goodness. I am loving so many things. Let’s see…

I’m loving the dedication and hard work that I’m seeing from Jojo with his golf game. On Monday since Jospeh was out of town, I got to go with him to his golf match.

I was a little out of my element. I’m not a great golf cart driver. It makes me nervous for some reason, but I got it together and was there for my boy! He did great. His team won and he got 2nd place by one stroke.

He has practiced almost daily. If he’s not at the golf course, he’s outside in the yard with his net practicing his swing.

What I’m most proud of is how calm he stayed during his match. He is quick to get down and discouraged when things aren’t going well, but not on Monday. He stayed calm and level headed the entire time. Proud momma right here!

I shared this on Instagram this weekend and can’t go without sharing it here.

These are my current favorite beauty products that I am loving.

Laura Mercier Setting Powder. This is the bomb.com, ha! But seriously, it really is. I use it after I apply my concealer under my eyes to set the concealer. You can also use it for your whole face. It truly does set your make-up for hours!

Clinique Concealer. This concealer was recommended by one of the Ulta employees. It conceals while it moisturizes while hiding those dark circles and brightening your eyes. I am loving it!

Revlon Lipstick. I’ve been on a hunt for the perfect nude color lipstick and I’ve found it! And! It’s less than $5! Seriously, I love it. Many of you have already bought it from when I shared it on my Instagram. If you are looking for an affordable nude lipstick, try this one out!

4. WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

The kiddos are full swing into their spring sports. Jojo is playing golf with the middle school and he’s also playing tournaments through a youth league.

Soccer is back and we are loving it! We are ready for warmer temps, but I love watching my girl on the soccer field.

Mary finished up her competition cheer season and starts tumbling next week. She’s enjoying the little break. Due to Covid and postponing the season, the girls ended up practicing for nine months. They were all happy to have a little break.

She’ll try out for next year’s team in a couple of weeks so now we tumble to get ready for that.

5. WHAT I’M DREADING:

The upcoming weather 😫. I am super excited about the sunny and 72, but I’m ready for the rain to let up already. It is looking a little better than it was, so maybe it won’t be so bad.

6. WHAT I’M WORKING ON:

Oh goodness. Lots of things. I’m trying my best to not be overwhelmed actually.

I’m creating content for my Instagram account. If you don’t follow me, please do! I share everything from faith to fitness and outfits and home decor. You can find me by clicking here. I’m working on my LIKEtoKNOW.it profile, too. You can find it here 😁.

I’m also training with my sister to learn her position for work. She is the admin on our real estate team and is having a baby in a couple of weeks. I’m going to cover for her while she’s gone. I’m super nervous. I have big shoes to fill because she is amazing at what she does!

7. WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:

My man is on his way home!! He’ll be here any minute now and I can’t wait to hug his neck!

If you know me personally, then you know how much I HATE when Joseph goes out of town. Yes, hate. I know it’s a strong word but that’s how I feel, ha!

I just miss him so much. He is part of me. We spend so much time together that when he’s gone, my heart aches. Hahaha!! Yes, I’m so dramatic 🤪🤣.

But seriously. I do miss him like crazy when he’s gone, but I’m glad he had a couple of days to play golf and have some guy time.

I was thinking this morning about our newly married days and how I would be late to work on days that he was off. He was a police officer and worked nights so when he was off, he slept in. I remember us talking about how much we wished that we didn’t have to leave each other and we could just hang out all day.

Well, that’s basically what we do now and have been doing for years. We work together so we’re able to spend a lot of time with each other. We still need our breaks and alone time every now and then, but I am so thankful that life has allowed us to do what we do.

I know that’s not for everyone and we are probably not your typical couple, ha! But when I say he’s my best friend. He is literally my best friend. I love you, babe!!!

8. WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:

I am continuing my plan of reading through the Bible this year. I had a lot of catching up to do from last week, but I’m all caught up. I am doing the Bible Recap with a group of 30 ladies and I am loving it! If you are wanting to read through the Bible, I highly recommend this plan.

I’m not really watching anything at the moment. I’m listening to a lot of podcasts on blogging and business so that takes up most of my time. I am, however, finally done with Dawson’s Creek.

Y’all. I was not prepared for the finale! I cried and cried!! Ugh. It was so good.

I did see the preview to this last night and I think I’m going to watch it this weekend. I think it may even be appropriate for my kiddos to watch. Have you seen it?

9. WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:

I am still loving my morning worship music. Currently playing in the background is Elevation Worship’s My Testimony.

I also have this random assortment of songs on a playlist I created and I’ve been listening to that in the car.

10. WHAT I’M WEARING:

Leggings, leggings and leggings! I’m loving these from American Eagle. Y’all know I love pink!

I’m loving the sneakers trend and I am loving these that I bought from H&M. I can’t find the white ones online, but I linked some in a different color. They are comfortable and true to size.

Speaking of sneakers…. I’ve been wearing these non stop. I’ve actually worn them more than my GG shoes.

I’ve worn them with leggings, dresses, and jeans. They literally can be worn with everything!

It’s been freezing here in Georgia! Soccer is back in full swing so I’ve been having to bundle up for our tournaments. This jacket is my life saver. Several of you have bought it and that makes me happy that I was able to share it with you!

11. WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:

We have a weekend off of soccer before we pick back up and have games every weekend in March. So I’m enjoying the free weekend!

Jojo has his first golf tournament. We are excited that the rain seems to be holding off!

12. WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:

Warmer temps and Spring!! Anyone else?!

13. WHAT ELSE IS NEW:

I think I’ve covered it all!! Friends, my man just walked in the door so I’m off to hug his neck!

Y’all have a GREAT Wednesday!!!

XO

What’s Up Wednesday {1.27.21}

Good morning, y’all! Joseph and I are back home from a quick work trip to Hilton Head Island.

Today is the first What’s Up Wednesday of 2021! If you’re new around here, it’s a fun link up hosted by Shay and Sheaffer.

We share a little bit of everything! As Shay says, “It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.”

Let’s gets started!

1. WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:

Ugh. Y’all we’ve been terrible around here with eating out. We’ve been so busy with all of the kiddos’ extracurricular activities and work. Joseph and I were just saying that we need to get back to eating at home.

So today, I’m sitting down and planning out our meals for the next couple of days and I’m going to the grocery store!

Back in October, I bought an Air Fryer and my goal is to finally use it. So hopefully for What’s Up Wednesday in February I’ll have some good recipes for you!

2. WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:

Being in Hilton Head the last couple of days just got me all in my feels. My family and I have been going to HHI for 10 years. Last year we finally bought a condo, renovated it and sold it within an hour. I shared all the links of the before and afters of our condo yesterday. You can click here to read an update and see how our condo turned out this summer.

We are currently working on a new project with our partners from home and y’all, it’s turning out so awesome. Take a peek at this bathroom transformation…

You ready?

Isn’t it beautiful?! The glass guy is hopefully coming out soon to install the glass doors in the bathrooms and change out a couple of windows throughout the house.

3. WHAT I’M LOVING:

Speaking of our Hilton Head Island house… I am loving these beams in the living room…

And if you haven’t already seen the before, this is what it looked like a when we bought it.

We have one more work trip and then we are going down for a fun weekend to celebrate Jojo’s birthday.

4. WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

We’ve been playing lots and lots of basketball!

Jojo finished up his season Saturday and Mackenzie did too.

Jojo heads straight into golf and back to soccer we go for Mackenzie. Oh the never ending cycle with kiddos, right?!

5. WHAT I’M DREADING:

I love watching my girl play soccer. It’s my favorite thing to watch her do. But y’all. The first couple of weeks are always soooo cold! I’m dreading the cold, but looking forward to the soccer!

6. WHAT I’M WORKING ON:

I am working on some blog posts of topics you requested. Last year, I set out to be consistent on here and I’ve really worked hard on that. I truly love writing and sharing and I hope that you’ve enjoyed reading!

7. WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:

If you don’t follow me on Instagram, I’d love for you to! I’ve always loved shopping and putting outfits together. I’ve also learned a lot of hair and beauty tips and tricks throughout the years. I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone to pursue becoming a lifestyle and fashion blogger.

It feels weird saying that, but I’ve always loved putting outfits together and I love creating content that helps other women. I also love fitness and nutrition and I’m excited to share more of that along with home decor ideas.

And last but not least, I hope to do all of this while always pointing you to Jesus. My faith is who I am and I love sharing my stories in hopes that they will help someone.

8. WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:

I am STILL watching Dawson’s Creek…ugh. I’m over it and ready to be done, ha! I’m on the last season and I think I’ll take a break from TV shows for a bit. I just can’t binge watch a show, y’all. It takes me forever. Anyone else? I think I’d rather read lol!

Speaking of reading… as you know I am doing the Bible Recap every morning. I am still loving it!

And Im hoping to start this one today…

It was out book club book for January, but I didn’t get to read it… I think it’s because all of my free time was spent watching Dawson’s Creek, haha!

9. WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:

I am obsessed with this song…

Every morning I have our Google home play it first thing.

10. WHAT I’M WEARING:

I am having so much fun dressing up! I got in a rut where I would stay in workout clothes all day and I still do some days. But I’ve made it a point to try and dress up a little more most days. It helps me feel put together and for some reason motivates me to be productive at work.

Here are a couple of outfits from this month…

I love a tweed skirt. I bought this one at loft a couple of years ago. The black sweater is from Wal-Mart and my blazer is from The Limited. I bought it a couple of years ago.

My boots were a Christmas present from my hubby and I’ve loved wearing them with different outfits.

For more outfit inspiration, follow me on the gram 💕!

11. WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:

Mary has he final cheer competition this weekend.

12. WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:

The beach house house finally being done! I especially can’t wait to finish furnishing and decorating it!

I also have a fun giveaway on my Instagram coming up next month and I can’t wait to share it with you guys!

13. WHAT ELSE IS NEW:

I think I’ve covered it all!

Thank you for reading!! I hope y’all have an awesome Wednesday!!

What’s Up Wednesday {11.25.20}

Happy Wednesday, friends!! Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I am so excited to get together with our families for lunch and then dinner.

This month has flown by!

As always, on the last Wednesday of every month, Sheaffer and Shay host a link up where everyone shares what’s going on right now. As Shay says, “It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.”

So let’s get started!

1. WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:

Turkey, turkey and more turkey!

On Thanksgiving day we always go to Joseph’s Nana and Papa’s house for lunch and then do dinner at our house with my family.

My mom makes her traditional turkey. It’s delicious! Every year, my dad would have us take his picture of his first bite.

Gosh, I miss him so much!

2. WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:

These pictures popped up in my Facebook memories from three years ago! Look how sweet they are!

3. WHAT I’M LOVING:

Lately I’ve been going by Sonic and getting a Coke Zero with Lime in it. Have you tried it? It’s sooooo good!

I talk about these candles all the time, I just love them. They last a long time and smell amazing!! Winter White is my current favorite.

4. WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

We finished up Track and Soccer and went straight into basketball! Three kiddos and their practice and game schedules will keep you busy, busy!

5. WHAT I’M DREADING:

I’m dreading my kiddos going back to school. Don’t get me wrong, I am so thankful that we are still in school doing face to face learning. But I sure do love it when they are home and sports practices aren’t taking up every single night of the week.

6. WHAT I’M WORKING ON:

A couple of ladies and I started this Advent study this week. I’m hosting it virtually and with a couple of ladies in town. So far I am loving it!

7. WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:

We had family pictures a couple of weekends ago and my friend and photographer sent me this sneak peek.

I love it so much and I can’t wait to see the rest!

The day started off so dreary and foggy. I was super bummed that the sun wouldn’t be out, but it made an appearance and it was beautiful!

8. WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:

This book right here. I am so thankful for it. It is speaking directly to my heart and it’s exactly what the Lord knew I needed.

A couple of nights ago, I saw this series on Netflix and started watching it. I remember watching it as a kid but I know I missed a lot of episodes since we didn’t have DVR back then. Oh my goodness! I didn’t realize how risqué it was!

I think I’m liking it more as an adult than I did as a kid.

9. WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:

This podcast episode was so good. It’s Annie interviewing Lysa TerKeurst about her new book, Forgiving What You Can’t Forget.

The truths they share and just the wisdom they give is amazing. I’ve struggled with some hurts in the last couple of years that I still have a hard time with. And this podcast spoke straight to my heart. I can’t wait to read the book!

This was another episode that I loved. Sadie Robertson interviewed Kari Jobe about her new album, The Blessing. Oh my goodness. Y’all, go listen to this episode. They talk about the story behind the song and it’s so awesome to hear how it all came about.

Speaking of Kari Jobe, have you listened to the new album? Soooo good!!

10. WHAT I’M WEARING:

It’s finally sweater weather around here so I’m wearing lots of sweaters. But this is pretty much my everyday mom uniform, ha! The fast and free Lululemon leggings are my favorite. They are actually on sale right now!

This sweater from Target is so fun! I love the color. I also bought it in a really pretty Christmas green!

I am also loving these boots! I am so excited that knee boots are back in style.

I wore this dress a couple of times this month. It’s so comfortable! You can throw a chunky sweater over it during the cooler months. I also wore my dupe Golden Goose shoes with it one day.

Here are the boots, again!

I am so excited about this dress! Loverly Grey shared it on Instagram and I bought it immediately. Y’all. This dress is less than $40. It’s so fun and something you can wear to your Holiday parties.

11. WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:

I bought a new foyer table so I’ve been trying to shop for items to go on it. I’m also working on a couple of small decor additions and changes around my house.

12. WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:

Everything that December brings. I’m looking forward to embracing the season and celebrating the true reason of the season.

13. WHAT ELSE IS NEW:

I think I pretty much covered it all!

If you’re still reading, thank you haha!

I hope you have a fantastic Wednesday!!

XO

What’s Up Wednesday {10.28.20}

How is it the last Wednesday of the month already?! This month has flown by and here we are, staring at the final two months of 2020. Sooo crazy!

On the last Wednesday of every month, Shay and Sheaffer do a fun link up. As Shay puts it, “It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.

I’ve got to admit that this What’s Up Wednesday post snuck up on me this month. It’s been a crazy couple of weeks for us.

But, I got it together and got it done! So here we go!

1. WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:

I’m not gonna lie, food has been pretty boring this week for us. Monday, Joseph worked late so I let the kiddos eat Dairy Queen and then yesterday I made spaghetti and meatballs for our cousin who just had a baby. I made enough for the kiddos to eat. I tried out a new recipe, not sure how I felt about it. But I’m going to try it a little different next time and see if it’s better. It was a broccoli chicken casserole. For the most part it was good, but just a little dry.

On Friday, my siblings and I are making my daddy’s pizza! My daddy used to make homemade pizza for us all the time. He made it when we had friends over, took some to our teachers and even made some for my sorority sisters during recruitment. It’s delicious. And everyone that has had his pizza knows what I’m talking about. I’ve been missing him a lot lately, so I told my sister that I needed a pizza night. It just brings us together and in some crazy way makes us feel like dad is with us. During quarantine, we made it every Sunday night. SOOOO GOOD!

2. WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:

Our beach trip this month was the absolute best! We had the sweetest time. Last week when Joseph and I had to make a quick trip down, we talked about how the condo felt so empty without everyone there. I can’t wait for us to do it again!

3. WHAT I’M LOVING:

This might be silly, but I get so frustrated picking up all the hair that falls out of my head when I’m drying, brushing or straightening it. I shed like a dog ha! A couple of months ago I had the crazy idea to buy a handheld vacuum to put under my sink for all the hair. And y’all, I love it! Makes cleaning it up so much easier.

I’m also loving my new tattoo! I forget that I have it and when I’m looking in the mirror and see it, it makes me happy! I’ve been promising a post about its significance and it’s coming! Hopefully next week so stay tuned.

4. WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

Honestly…survival ha! Just kidding.

We wrapped up football cheerleading and track for these two and are headed straight into competition cheerleading and basketball season! Competition cheerleading is normally coming to an end, but COVID postponed our season. Jojo finds out today if he makes the middle school team so praying for him! But he’s also on a travel team. So we will be busy, busy!

Mackenzie is finishing up soccer for the year. She will start back up in February. But in the meantime, she is playing on two basketball teams.

So needless to say, this will be my life, ha!

5. WHAT I’M DREADING:

Honestly, not much. 2020 has been so crazy I’m learning to just take it day by day!

6. WHAT I’M WORKING ON:

I’m working on marking things off my master to do list. Right now our guest room is a gigantic mess so I plan on tackling it sometime soon!

7. WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT

I’m excited about Halloween being on a Saturday this year.

Also, I’m excited about Christmas this year. I’m the weirdo who doesn’t decorate until as close to Christmas as possible and then I take it all down the day after! But this year I am embracing the Christmas Spirit, people! I’m doing it!

8. WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:

Y’all, I’m not really watching anything right now. I have a couple of shows I want to start, but haven’t gotten around to it. But, I am reading! Last month I shared a new book that I was going to read and honestly I wasn’t feeling it. So since I loved The Fight to Flourish by Jennie Lusko, I decided to read her husband’s book, Through the Eyes of a Lion. So far I am loving it and so glad that I switched over to it.

Our neighborhood book club is meeting in two weeks so I’m trying to get through this one as quick as I can!

9. WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:

Elevation Church sang a new song a couple of weeks ago and I loved it! It finally released this past week and it has been on repeat in the car.

A couple of weeks ago when I was doing the devotional, Take Back Your Life, Levi Lusko mentioned this song. He said that his daughter was afraid of the dark and that they would play this for her. I asked our google home to play it and I’ve played it every day since. As soon as I pour my coffee, I tell my google home to play it.

And then this one played next and I love it, too!

10. WHAT I’M WEARING:

Georgia is still not on the fall weather train so I’m wearing lots of plaid shirts with shorts! I buy most if not all of mine from Old Navy! I also love wearing a sweater with jean shorts. At some point it will begin to feel like fall and we won’t sweat to death while we are trying to wear all the fall things!

I shared these pants on my Friday Favorites last week. Love them so much! They remind me of the lululemon version. My only negative was that I’m short so I had to fold them at the waist, but it wasn’t that big of an issue!

I finally convinced my hubby to buy me a pair of Doc Martens and I love them! I have wanted some white ones ever since I watched Sadie Robertson wear them when she spoke at the Mercedes Benz Stadium for Passion. Now I want to wear them all the time!

More plaid ha! But it was warm outside so I wore my birkenstocks.

Target has some awesome dresses this season. I am loving this one. I tried to find it online so that I could share the link, but I couldn’t find it…

11. WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:

We are making dad’s pizza with my siblings on Friday and then doing all things Halloween on Saturday!

12. WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:

Decorating for Christmas and trying hard to get in the Christmas spirit this year! I normally stress this time of year because all I think about are the gifts I have to buy. But I’m changing my perspective and mindset. Let’s do this!

13. WHAT ELSE IS NEW:

Ummmm….. I think I about covered it all!

Happy Wednesday, friends!!!

What’s Up Wednesday {09.30.20}

Anyone else happy that we’ve made it to the middle of the week? Our kiddos are out for fall break next week so we are counting down to Friday! Also, can you believe it’s the last day of the month? Where did September go?!

I have a fun post for you today. On the last Wednesday of every month, Shay and Sheaffer do a What’s Up Wednesday link up. As shay puts it, “It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.

1: WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:

If you follow me on social media, then you know I am in a middle of a reverse. Many of you have asked me for more information on this so I am working on a post coming soon! In short, it’s where you slowly increase your calories after being in a calorie deficit (cut). It helps with resetting your metabolism and balancing your hormones.

Since I count my macros, I try to make macro-friendly meals. One of my favorites is taco bowls! I love the bowls and since I’m in a reverse and get more carbs, I can have two! Yesterday I was pressed for time so I stopped by to pick up a rotisserie chicken. I pulled off all the chicken breast and threw it in a stir fry pan, added a little water and taco seasoning to my taste. I added black beans, corn, salsa and plain greek yogurt instead of sour cream.

If you read my Sam’s Club post last week, then you know how much my kiddos love these chicken bites and fries. They taste just like Chick-fil-a! They are a quick and easy dinner option for those busy evenings.

I have a yogurt almost everyday. I normally do the vanilla and add in peanut butter and chocolate chips. Yesterday I decided to pick up a new flavor, toasted marshmallow. I crushed up two of the thin oreos and OMG….it was so good! I think I’ll have another one tonight!

2: WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT:

This picture popped up in my memories a couple of days ago… Oh how I miss our Saturday mornings at Cracker Barrel with my dad. I just wish he was here to see the kids and how grown up they are. He would be so proud!

3: WHAT I’M LOVING:

This primer, mascara and lash serum! I shared about it last Friday on my Friday Favorites post. I am LOVING the way my lashes look!

4: WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

We are knee deep in sports with all three kiddos! Jojo is running cross-country, Mary is cheering sideline and competition and Mackenzie is playing with a club soccer team. So most days are spent running three kiddos in three different directions!

5: WHAT I’M DREADING:

I am loving the fall weather, but I know the cold is coming. I am totally dreading cold weather!!

6: WHAT I’M WORKING ON:

I am working on being more productive with my days! I am trying to be consistent in making a daily list and marking things off that list. I am also working on setting a timer every time I scroll social media to help me manage my time better. I’ve really enjoyed being productive, but man is it exhausting ha!

I’m also working on a Wal-Mart post for you guys! Y’all, they have stepped up their game. I got so many awesome things yesterday. I can not wait to share it with you all.

7: WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:

FALL BREAK!! When we started school in person, so many doubted that we would still be in person and here we are. I am so thankful for our administrators, teachers and staff. They have done a phenomenal job! I am excited about a week without school and practices. We are also excited to head down to our condo. It’ll be the first week without having to really “work” on it! If you missed my post from yesterday, check it out here. I share before and after pictures of the kitchen and dining room transformation.

8: WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:

During my quiet time I am doing Levi Lusko’s 40 day devotional, Take Back Your Life. LOVE!!! I have blogged and posted on social media about this devotional and how amazing it has been for me. If you are looking for a great one, this is the one!

I am also reading his wife’s book The Fight to Flourish. Oh my goodness, you know those books that you can read over and over again? This is one. I know I will read it again multiple times. If you are going through a struggle or have lost a loved one, buy this book. It will heal your heart.

In the mornings when I go to the basement to do my “blaire strength” (this is the workout from my trainer) I am watching Fuller House. I never finished off the last couple of seasons so I decided to finally finish the series. Oh my goodness…the last two days I’ve watched the episodes where Kimmy has Stephanie’s baby! Tears!!!!! Trying to lift weights while crying is not easy ha! I loved how they name her Danny Jo after Danny and DJ….. ahhhhh so many tears!!!

9: WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:

I am loving Natalie Grant’s new album. My two current favorites are My Weapon and No Stranger. I just love Natalie Grant. I love who she is and her voice is just powerful. These songs have been on repeat in my car and in the mornings while I’m having my quiet time.

10: WHAT I’M WEARING:

I am loving my new dress from Amazon. It was $24 and a total win! It was cool enough (thank you Jesus for the fall weather) to add a jean jacket! If you are looking for a fun casual dress, this one is it. They have several colors and is a perfect transitional outfit from spring to summer and to fall!

I am also loving this new necklace. I started following a blogger on instagram, Nasreen. She shared this necklace and I loved it. I’ve been looking for a dainty diamond necklace. I ordered it and had it in my hands in less than a week. The quality is great and I have worn it everyday since I got it in. The Etsy Shop is called RustikHeart. Definitely check them out. I will be ordering other items soon!

I am also loving my new yellow house slippers! The color just makes me happy. I wish I would’ve sized up, but other than that I love them.

11: WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:

Heading off to HHI for Fall Break!

12: WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:

I love October!! I am looking forward to the cooler temps and all things fall. Our community has also decided to move forward with Halloween as normal so I can’t wait for that. Especially with Halloween being on a Saturday this year. Here’s one of my all time favorite pictures of my sweet girl in her costume a couple of years ago. Why does this seem like it was so long ago????

13: WHAT ELSE IS NEW:

I think I’ve covered it all!

Thank you for hanging with me and reading! I hope you have a fantastic last day of September!

What’s Up Wednesday {10.25.17}n

Hi Y’all!  It’s time for What’s Up Wednesday which means it is the last Wednesday of the month.  I can’t believe October is almost over.

Today I am linking up with Shay, Sheaffer and Mel for their fun link-up.  Every month we answer these questions:

img_6229

1. What We’re Eating This Week

I’ll just be real honest here and say, lots of fast food.  Ugh.  I haven’t made it to the grocery store this week.

2.  What I’m Reminiscing About

It’s Halloween on Tuesday!  This year we found everyone’s costume without any crazy drama.  I did have to order Jojo’s because he wanted a very specific clown mask.  What in the world?  I miss the days where they wore cute costumes.  Just look at my sweet babies…

3.  What I’m Loving

I am loving the cooler weather!  It finally feels like fall in Georgia.

4.  What We’ve Been Up To

Our CrossFit gym is celebrating our anniversary all month-long.  We divided into teams and have been working hard all month to accumulate points.  We’ve had a great time!

img_7117-1

We also celebrated our anniversary with a scavenger hunt, crossfit style.  We went all over our small town.  So much fun!

5.  What I’m Dreading

This one is always hard.  I can’t think of anything that I’m dreading.  Maybe Christmas shopping??  I know, I know.  I’m the weird one, but Christmas shopping stresses me out.

6.  What I’m Working On

Laundry laundry laundry!  Ha!  No, I’m kidding.  Maybe.

Earlier this month we went to Hilton Head Island for Fall Break and then we had painters at our house for a couple of days.  I can’t take a day off when it comes to laundry so a whole weekend really put me behind.  I’m working on getting caught up and not stressing about it.

7.  What I’m Excited About

Basketball!  Football is over and now it’s time for basketball.  Don’t get me wrong, we love football around here but when it’s over it’s over and we move on.

The girls are playing ball through our local rec. department.  They are both on “big” girl teams this year so I’m excited to watch them play.

Jojo is playing with his travel team in a local league during the winter.  He’s a 5th grader playing on a 6th grade team which makes me a little nervous.  He did the same last year as a 4th grader and improved tremendously.

I’ve been reminding Jojo of this quote.  Some days he’s not very excited about practicing and going to lessons.  I know he’s young, but I want to instill the practice of practicing.  We can’t just count on our natural ability to do things.  We have to practice and work hard.

8.  What I’m Watching/Reading

I am working on finishing up Of Mess and Moxie by Jen Hatmaker.  My goal was to be done by now, but I am not a fast reader.

img_6855

I’m also doing a virtual bible study through my Facebook page and blog for the book, Church of the Small Things by Melanie Shankle.  We started the study on Sunday and it will go for six weeks.

img_6975-5

As far as what I’m watching…everything ha!

Keeping Up with the Kardashians is my guilty pleasure.  This is Us is so good.  Joseph and I watch Survivor together.  We’ve watched it for almost 10 years.  Riverdale is on its second season.  If you liked Pretty Little Liars, you will love this show.  You can’t do Thursdays without Greys and How to Get Away with Murder.  And I am loving American Housewife.  It is such a funny show!

I think I realized why I can’t finish a book ha!  Yes, I watch a lot of shows.  There are a few more that I watch here and there, but these are my favorites.  Thank goodness for the ability to record episodes.

9.  What I’m Listening To

We sang this song at church on Sunday and it’s been on repeat this week.

img_7403

When I crank my car it will randomly select songs from my music library.  These were a couple of the random selections.  Took me back in time!

10.  What I’m Wearing

Lots of plaid shirts and jeans.  I’m excited to add in my boots now that it feels like fall.

img_6930

I’m wearing my Born Primitive Halloween Shorts and my new sweatshirt.  You can read all about Born Primitive here.  Use my BFF’s coupon code Sanders15 for 15% off of your purchase.

img_7113-2

I also bought this new sports bra from them and love it.

img_7112-2

This shirt came from one of our local boutiques, Polished Chic.  I got so many compliments at church about it.

img_7361

Earlier this year, a blogger posted a pic of the cutest house slippers.  They were gold and sparkly, but when I went to order them they had sold out.  While I was at Target yesterday, I decided to walk through the shoes and came across these.  I was so excited until I noticed that they were for little girls.  But I decided to try on a large just to see and they fit!  They are super comfy and so adorable.  Oh and only $17.99 since they are “kids” sizes.  I am a size 7 in women’s shoes and these fit perfectly.  Aren’t they adorable!?

I love my slippers, but I also love a good, comfy robe.  I wear one every single day.  I needed a new one and found this one while we were on vacation.  The brand is Calvin Klein and it is super soft.  I bought it at TJ Maxx in Hilton Head.

11.  What I’m Doing This Weekend

On Friday, I am going to a friend’s house for a Cabi Party.

Saturday is the first Saturday since August that we do not have football.  Joseph’s Aunt Rose is hosting her annual Halloween Party.  She throws the best parties!

Sunday we will go to church.  It’s dress up day for the kiddos so they get to wear their costumes to church.  Although, I told Mary and Jojo they would need to pick a non-scary outfit to wear.

12.  What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month

Joseph and I will celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary on December 11th.  We always take a few days to get away and enjoy some time to ourselves.  I am super thankful for my sister who holds down the fort for us at home.  We normally go the second weekend in December, but this year we are leaving at the end of next month.  We decided to go with a tropical trip instead of going to Grove Park Inn like we’ve done the past couple of years.  I’ll miss going to GPI.  It’s always a great trip but I’m excited to change it up this year.

13.  What Else is New

I think I covered it all!

Happy Wednesday friends!  Thanks for reading.

What’s Up Wednesday {09.27.17}

Today I am linking up with Mix and Match Mama, Sheaffer Told Me To and Larson Lingo for Whats Up Wednesday. I have been reading their What’s Up Wednesday posts for a while now so I thought I would join in on the fun! They do this on the last Wednesday of every month. Every month, they answer these questions….

1. What We’re Eating This Week

Yesterday I shared with you my favorite snack.  I eat it pretty much every day.  It is easy to make and tastes great!

I normally try to grocery shop on Tuesdays but wasn’t really feeling it yesterday. What is it about grocery shopping and laundry? I am awful about putting it off until we are completely out of food and underwear ha! I planned on making this meal later this week, but decided to go to Kroger and grab a rotisserie chicken to use to make chicken fajita tacos.  They were super easy to make-only took about 15 minutes to get it all prepared and ready to eat.

Speaking of things we procrastinate on. I am always so rushed in the morning packing lunches for my kids. A couple of weeks ago, I had surgery and Joseph had to cover for a couple of mornings. As I was telling him all he needed for each kid, he says “babe, I got it. I’ll just get them lunchables. They will love that.” And they did totally love it. I felt a little bad about sending them to school with a lunchable but I quickly appreciated how easy it was to pack their lunch.  This has become my go-to option on mornings when I coach our 6:45am class.  It makes things easier and less hectic.  I love stress free mornings.

Another one of my daily snacks is this yogurt bar.  I try to keep one in my gym bag or purse.  After I had kids, my hunger went kind of crazy.  If I get too hungry I feel so gross.  I always try to have almonds or this bar on hand.

2.  What I’m Reminiscing About

This summer we did not go on our annual Hilton Head Island Trip.  This has been a tradition since Mackenzie was a baby and we really missed not going.  HHI is so special to us for many reasons.  For a long time, Joseph and I couldn’t afford to take beach trips with our kids.  When we began going to HHI, we were at a better place financially.  We were able to do things we couldn’t afford to do before and it quickly became a special place.  We were hoping to go back during our Fall Break next week, but weather is not looking too promising.  We are going to watch it for another day or so before making the final decision.  These are pictures from our trip in 2016.  We love HHI!

3.  What I’m Loving

Let me start by saying I love all three of my kiddos.  But this week this kiddo has stolen my heart.  I am so proud of him and the young man he is becoming.  Jojo has struggled with school since starting 3rd grade.  He has a tutor and she has been so good for him.  Jojo has really worked hard to get his grades up this year.  I’ve learned that not all of our children will be straight A students and that’s ok.  If you give me 100% and you get a B then I will take that B and I will be proud of you no matter what.  This year Jojo has improved so much.  Especially in math.  He was so excited to show us his 100.  I was so happy to see him get excited about his grade and to realize that hard work pays off.  I am loving watching him grow up.

4.  What We’ve Been Up To

Football and Softball!  Between the two we have no life haha!  It is such a fun season, but it keeps us busy.  My friend Lindsay takes amazing pictures.  Her son is not on our team this year, but since we played their team she took some of all the kiddos.  Thank you Lindsay!  You have a gift my friend!

5.  What I’m Dreading

I couldn’t really think of anything I’m dreading other than this crazy heat.  Can we please have fall weather now?

6.  What I’m Working On

Joseph and I are about to start the 2nd phase of house projects.  When we moved in two years ago we got a lot done right away.  After finishing a couple of big projects we took a break to recover from the craziness of remodeling.   We are ready to get started again and first on the list is new paint.  When we first moved in, we decided to go with a neutral beige color.  I couldn’t decide on a color because we painted before moving in all of our things.  It’s taken some time, but I’ve finally decided to go with a grey.  This is not an easy task!  The choices were overwhelming.  I finally narrowed it down to two and now I think we have agreed on the color.  I can’t wait to see it done!

7.  What I’m Excited About

I am excited about our upcoming projects!  I’m also excited about all things fall and getting my house decorated.

 8.  What I’m Watching/Reading

Who else is excited about fall TV?!?! I am super excited!  All of our shows come back and I can’t wait.  This is Us, Survivor, Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, Will & Grace and Riverdale are just a few of my favorites.  Joseph and I love putting the kids to bed and then hanging out on the couch catching up on our shows.

As far as what I am reading… I have not read very much lately.  I can’t make myself stay still long enough to read.  But I really do want to start reading again so I’ve made a goal to read 1-2 books this month.  I picked this one up at Target today.  I’ve heard great reviews and I love Jen Hatmaker.  I thought it would be a good book to read during my quiet time.

I took Mackenzie to the book fair this week and saw this book on the shelf.  Have y’all watched the previews for Wonder?  Oh my goodness.  I can’t wait to watch it.  I want the big kids and I to read it before watching the movie in November.  It has such a beautiful message!  I was excited when the kids saw it on the table and said they wanted to read Wonder too.

9.  What I’m Listening To

My music is all over the place all the time.  I can go from straight gangster rap to hip hop to Christian music.  These were a couple of the songs I listened to on my way to Target today.

10.  What I’m Wearing

About a year ago or so I was introduced to Lululemon.  Joseph and I took a trip to Asheville and I got to go in the store and try everything on.  I was immediately sold!  The fact that I get a discount for having my CrossFit L1 is a plus.  Wunder Under pants are my favorite.  They feel amazing on and look great.  I have a couple of them in black so I was excited to get these in.  They are a really pretty deep purple.  I can’t wait for cooler weather so that I can wear them without pouring sweat!

Speaking of things I love from Lululemon.  I also love their speed and run times shorts. I wear them pretty much every day.  They are super comfortable.  I was excited for the cooler weather this morning.  I love wearing a lightweight jacket or sweater.

I am also wearing these beautiful No Bull trainer shoes.  They were a sweet surprise gift from my hubby.  They came in the mail the day I got cleared to work out again.  Great timing and thank you babe!

11.  What I’m Doing This Weekend

Football!  Go White Dragons!!

12.  What I’m Looking Forward To Next Month

Fall break starts Monday for our kiddos.  We are hoping to go out of town for a few days.  I am looking forward to some time away with my family.

 13.  What Else Is New

I think I’ve covered pretty much everything!

Bonus question this month: What TV show are you most excited about this fall

Oh my goodness I can’t just pick one!  There are so many that I’m excited about.  But I am super excited about Riverdale. The first season is on Netflix and you should totally watch it.

Well that wraps up my very first What’s Up Wednesday!

Have a Wonderful Wednesday!
